Paradise Private Hospital (PPH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Papua New Guinea Nurses Association (PNGNA), March 23, 2026, marking a significant step toward providing healthcare services to 4000-plus nurses across the country.
Speaking at the event, the PNGNA President, Mr. Frederick Kebai acknowledged the Government of Papua New Guinea for recognizing and supporting the nursing profession through the provision of compulsory insurance coverage.
“Nurses serve our people from the womb to the tomb. We want to see our nurses get treated with care. This partnership ensures that our members receive the attention and services they deserve,” Mr. Kebai added.
All referrals under the arrangement will be directed to PPH, with medical claims to be administered in partnership with Southern Cross Assurance Ltd (SCAL).
PPH Chairman, Dr. Robin Sios, highlighted the broader vision of the partnership, noting that the agreement signals a new chapter in healthcare service delivery.
“This occasion marks a new beginning in our journey to provide the level of healthcare that Papua New Guineans aspire to receive. We are embracing digitalization at PPH, operating a paperless system that allows us to better serve our partners and patients,” Dr. Sios added.
PPH CEO, Dr. Polapoi Chalau, expressed appreciation for the partnership, describing it as a long-awaited milestone.
“This is a significant moment for us. The backbone of our country depends on our health workers, and we are grateful for this initiative. We will do our utmost to provide quality healthcare services,” Dr. Chalau said.
