The first procedure was successfully performed in February by Dr. James Kennedy (Senior General Surgeon & Paediatric Surgeon) and the PPH Radiology Team on an 8-year-old male patient this year, 2026.

Dr. Kennedy is highly skilled in both General and Pediatric Surgery, with specialized expertise in the treatment of Hirschsprung’s Disease, a serious congenital intestinal condition affecting children.
Through extensive international specialist training and mentorship under pioneers of pediatric surgery in Papua New Guinea, Dr. Kennedy is qualified to perform single-stage corrective surgery.
